About the Artist

At 21 years old, Loriel Bowers-Vernier is a passionate visual artist based in Greenville, South Carolina. A graduate of The Fine Arts Center, located in Greenville, South Carolina, Loriel's artistic journey began with a foundation rooted in 2D and 3D design, drawing, painting, printmaking, fiber arts, ceramics, and metalworking. Her time at the Fine Arts Center provided her with an education and diverse skill set that continues to enrich her artistic practice.

Graduating from The Fine Arts Center in 2022, located in Greenville, South Carolina, she has experience in a variety of mediums. These mediums range from drawing, painting, textile and fiber arts, ceramics, metalworking, to her latest medium: Photography!

Her post-high school journey led her to prioritize travel. Accepting volunteer positions in countries such as Spain, Italy, and Puerto Rico.

She has three months of experience backpacking across Europe. It was during this time that she traveled in Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Austria.

In the spring of 2024, she volunteered in Puerto Rico

In the summer of 2024, she and three other friends embarked on a 5 week trip across parts of Indonesia and Thailand.

Growing up, she went on road trips across the country with her grandparents. Years later, she made the journey across the United States on two separate occasions by herself. Both for seasonal positions. One led her to the beautiful Park City, Utah, where she worked as a housekeeper to earn her seasonal ski pass. A great passion of hers. The second was to further her work in education as an Outdoor Science Educator in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California.
